Meet Jiffy Day
About the Author
Although Jiffy Day grew up in Southwest Virginia (Galax to be exact) basically unable to read or write, he dreamed of being a writer. It was not until years later after doctors discovered and removed a golf-ball-size tumor from the left frontal lobe of his brain that Jiffy found the courage and ability to write his first novel, "The Growing Season."
"I'm telling you, it's from God. What I did to deserve it, I don't know."
Using Dragon voice recognition software, Jiffy dictates his stories, bringing to life the people, places, and experiences of 1960s-70s Southwest Virginia. His books have been praised for their authentic portrayal of the region and its people.
Jiffy lives with his wife and love of his life, Glenda, on a mountain in Southwest Virginia where he continues to work on stories that capture the heart and soul of Appalachia.
